Ronald Kneeskern

Ronald Dwight Kneeskern, age 79, of Austin, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Austin Medical Center.
Ronald
Dwight Kneeskern was born on Sept. 15, 1925, in Austin to Dwight and
Florence (Runner) Kneeskern. He graduated from Austin High School and
worked as an electrician at Hormel Foods. On Jan. 18, 1947, he married
Rose Wytaske in Austin, where they have continued to live. Ronald was a
member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 91 and
VFW Post 1216. He was active in the Audubon Society, in the study of
ornithology and "birding." He enjoyed restoring native prairie and
building bird houses.
Surviving are his wife Rose of Austin,
Minn.; daughter Elizabeth "Beth" Shade, New Hope, Minn.; four
grandchildren, Carolyn (David) Lechko, Emily Shade, Allison Shade,
Joseph Shade; brother, Kenneth (Lois) Kneeskern, Austin, Minn; nieces;
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger; and grandson, Roger.
Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at First
United Methodist Church with Rev. Patricia Toschak officiating.
Interment will be at Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery, rural Austin.
Friends may call at the church one hour before the service. American
Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216 are in charge of military rites.
Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is in charge of the arrangements.

He served on the USS Sigsbee DD-502 8 months and 18 days. Ronald was transferred March 25, 1946 to Receiving Station Charleston, SC for further transfer to Seperation Center Minneapolis, MN for discharge.
