Web Master's Notes: "Nat" Doldorf was a dear friend of mine on the USS Sigsbee DD-502 during W.W.II. He enlisted in the USNavy at New York, NY and was received aboard the DD-502 February 2, 1943 (Ground Hog's Day) from RS Brooklyn, NY as GM2c, service # 224 51 79. Nathaniel William Doldorf, GM1c, was transferred January 10, 1945 (at San Diego, CA) to NTSch Gunners Mates and Hydraulic NyD, Washington, DC. Nat served 1 year 11 months and 9 days on the USS Sigsbee. I have searched many years for him and got lucky today, 7-7-07, found him on "Ancestry.com."
