ANTHONY DAVID SOX

[The day the family learned that Tony Sox had died, Brother Paul Sox was the one that had to tell his mother of her sons passing. Colette Trader furnished the following information pending obtaining a copy of the original obituary.]

Anthony David (Tony) Sox, S1c serving aboard the Destroyer USS Sigsbee dd-502, was listed as "missing in action" after the ship was damaged while under air attack by 20 kamikaze planes on April 14, 1945 near Okinawa.

Tony was born January 17, 1920 to Mary and Michael Sox. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church and School in Renovo, Pa. In addition to his parents, Tony was survived by four Sisters; Ann Sox Molchan, Sophie Sox Roman, Katie Sox Tomchick and Mary Sox Tomchick, and four Brothers; Joseph Sox, John W. Sox, Paul Thomas Sox and Michael Sox.
